Paco Etxeberria
Forensic anthropologist
Beasain, Gipuzkoa. Forensic anthropologist. He holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of the Basque Country (1991) and is a specialist in legal and forensic medicine, as well as a specialist in forensic anthropology and biology from the Complutense University of Madrid. He is a tenured professor of Legal and Forensic Medicine at the University of the Basque Country (EHU), chair of the Department of Physical Anthropology at the Aranzadi Society of Sciences (of which he was president), chair of the Legal and Forensic Medicine Section of the Bilbao Academy of Medical Sciences, and a professor at the Basque Institute of Criminology, where he has served as secretary and deputy director. Since 2020, he has served as an advisor to the Spanish government on matters of historical memory. Some of his forensic studies have had particular social significance, such as several reports on torture, cases related to the historical memory of the Spanish Civil War, and the exhumation of mass graves containing the remains of murdered and missing persons.

Ha publicado artículos académicos y colabora en diferentes revistas y medios digitales. En 2023 publicó su tercer libro, el poemario Sonetos del parto.
